The last day of Black Tech Week will be a Community Youth Hack-a-thon that will focus on President Obama’s My Brother’s Keepers initiative. The Hack-a-Thon will focus on fostering ideas and building tech solutions aimed at improving life outcomes for the youth in South Florida. Students will compete that day for cash and prizes to the winning teams.
Throughout the entire week we are teaming up with Miami Dade County schools where local startup companies will also be adopting classrooms for an hour of tech each day during the entire Black Tech week. Speakers from the conference as well as local start up founders will serve as volunteers to come and speak to classrooms, showcase their technology and/or teach coding sessions highlighting notable figures in Black History.
