Lisa-Mae is a critical care nurse by training and has a Bachelor’s in Zoology from the University of the West Indies (Mona), Jamaica. She also holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida. Being with Baptist Health South Florida for 13 years, she has worked as a staff nurse in the ICU, a Clinical Educator for critical care and progressive care, Nurse Manager, and currently is the Operations Director of Telehealth & eICU.
The eICU LifeGuard program launched in December 2005 and supports the care and management of patients in critical care, progressive care and in the emergency department across the BHSF 6-hospital system. She oversees the daily operations and supervises clinical and clerical personnel. She has an arguably unique perspective as the Operations Director having worked on “both sides of the camera”.
An experienced presenter, Lisa-Mae has conducted various presentations at national and international conferences and has been published in the nursing journal – Critical Care Nurse. She is also a subject matter expert on Acute Kidney Injury.
