Biography

As the owner of an event planning company, Patrice has planned and managed events for over 10 years.  The majority of her clients include professional associations, where she manages and organizes conferences, events and seminars whose primary purpose is to connect corporations seeking to retain diverse suppliers.  The experience of organizing networking events, symposia and corporate matchmaking events, which has included Fortune 100 Corporations, provides her with keen insight and firsthand experience as to what works and what may provide challenges.  As a WBE Minority Certified business, Patrice frequents conferences, match making events and supplier fairs.  She found these “client hunting” processes to be time consuming, expensive and ineffective.  She actively began seeking solutions.

Patrice met her co-founders, Michael Hall and Danté Fillyau when she retained their professional services for a client.    The combination of over 40 years of experience in IT, branding, website development and events was the perfect formula for innovation and creativity. The collaborative project created a synergy that led to the creation of Gateway Software Development. Gateway Software Development develops diversity focused search engines which facilitate business to business transactions across multiple platforms while providing a seamless and measurable method to track and maintain diversity goals.  Gateway Software was developed as an innovative answer to corporations seeking to diversify their partnerships.  Gateway’s diversity focused search engines and live events provide a cost effective and efficient platform to seek and retain diverse suppliers.

Patrice worked as a school teacher, stay at home mom and community volunteer prior to entering the world of entrepreneurship.   She has served on the Board of Trustees, for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Imagine It! Children’s Museum of Atlanta, The Ritz Chamber Players Advisory Board and Agape Community Center.  An active member of The Junior Leagues of Kansas City, Missouri and Atlanta for over 16 years Patrice has an immense passion and commitment to the arts and civic engagement.  In continuing her commitment to service, her event planning services are donated “in kind” to a chosen not for profit each year.

Patrice holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Spelman College and a Master of Education Degree from Vanderbilt University and is the proud mother of two daughters, Taylor (19) and Sydney (16-soon to be 17).
