Sian Morson is an entrepreneur, mobile enthusiast, and author.
In 2010, Sian founded Kollective Mobile to help other businesses and startups with mobile development and strategy. She currently oversees operations and leads all business development and strategic efforts. Kollective Mobile works primarily with startups and agencies to develop and deliver compelling mobile experiences.
Sian has lead Kollective Mobile in mobile strategic work for high profile clients to deliver large web and mobile builds and campaigns for popular brands. Sian’s diverse skillset includes marketing, advertising, mobile strategy, business management and thought leadership.
Sian lectures and speaks at conferences, universities and symposia worldwide including SXSW, ModevUX and the University of Ohio. She also writes about mobile strategy and entrepreneurship for a number of publications. Known as a mobile expert and thought leader, Sian has been featured and quoted in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Inc., Black Enterprise, Ebony, and on NPR.
A tireless advocate for equality and diversity in technology, Sian has a keen interest in bridging the digital divide. To this end, she volunteers her time with various non-profits working to bring equality to tech.
Apress recently published Sian’s book “Learn Design for iOS”, and her story is featured in the collection of inspirational stories about women in technology “Innovating Women” by Vivek Wadwha and Ferai Chedaya. Her new book Design for iOS with Sketch will be published in December 2015.
In 2014, Sian was named one of the top women in tech to follow on Twitter by the Huffington Post, Craig Newmark, and CEO World Magazine. She is also a proud member of the Africa Angels Network, advising and investing in tech startups on the African continent.
In 2014 Sian launched Cast, a new beauty platform that uses weather data to bring users personalized product recommendations via the Cast Beauty app.An internationally exhibited artist, Sian enjoys fusing her creativity with technology. Her video art work has featured in the prestigious Optica Festival in Spain, Director’s Lounge Berlin, Aakriti Gallery in Mumbai, India, and MoCADA Museum in Brooklyn, NY.
